Sweet Victory (Blame) takes $200,000 Penn Oaks

Coming off an impressive win in the Honey Ryder Stakes last month, SWEET VICTORY (Blame) rallied to win the $200,000 Penn Oaks by 1 1/2 lengths June 4th going 1 mile on the turf.

Settling in off the pace along the backstretch, Sweet Victory went three wide around the turn and pulled clear for the win.

Trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Javier Castellano, the 3-year-old VA-bred daughter of Blame has won four of six career starts.

In the past few weeks, Claiborne stallion BLAME has been on a hot streak. This marks his third stakes horse since May 21, including a runner-up finish by NO FAULT OF MINE in the G3 Arlington Matron Stakes.

Blame is also the sire of ONUS (new course record at Belmont 5/21) and PROMOTE (named TDN Rising Star following an extraordinary maiden score at Belmont 5/22).
