Halfway through the 2020 calendar year, ORB finds himself with a sizeable lead of Graded Stakes Horses amongst his fourth-crop peers. More than doubling that of Paynter (the leading fourth-crop sire by earnings) and twice as many as the highly-touted Violence, ORB sits atop the leaderboard with six graded stakes horses from substantially less starters.
With graded stakes horses this year on both turf and dirt, in sprints and routes, ORB‘s 2020 starters are highlighted by the Acorn S. (G1) runner-up Pleasant Orb. Already blacktype-placed, Pleasant Orb was no match for the sensational Gamine, but bested the rest of the Acorn S. (G1) field defeating Grade 1 winner Perfect Alibi and stakes winners Lucrezia, Water White, etc. A lightly raced 3-year-old filly, Pleasant Orb has never finished out of the money.
Bred in Kentucky by owner Charles E. Fipke, Pleasant Orb is out of the Seeking the Gold mare and Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) winner Pleasant Home.
ORB stands at Claiborne Farm for $10,000 LFSN.
