A new stakes winner for BLAME two starts back, Officiating went even better on Saturday with a win in the Mr. Prospector Stakes (G3) to become his sire’s 19th graded stakes winner.
The seven furlong Gulfstream dirt race saw the Vegso Racing Stable homebred break well from the outside post and duel for the lead in the first furlong. As the field settled down, Officiating was in the fourth position a few lengths off the lead
As the field tightened in the turn, Officiating was taken three wide to take a spot among the leaders. The colt steadily pulled away from the others. Endorsed closed late but Officiating was still the best by three quarters of a length in the end.
Now the winner of three of his starts with six other top three finishes, Officiating is the earner of over $206,000 after the win.
Officiating is one of three stakes winners from three runners for Come A Callin, whose headlining runner is 2017 Champion 2-Year-Old filly Caledonia Road. Come A Callin is also a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Citizen Advocate and out of half-sister to stakes winners Database and Vespers, who both produced Grade 1 winners.
One of the biggest value sires in the world, BLAME strikes among the elite stallions at 16.4% stakes performers and 8.54% stakes winners.
