Ms Bad Behavior Plays Nice for Blame at Kentucky Downs

Blame’s Ms Bad Behavior took advantage of a speed-favoring track and never relinquished the lead, bounding to a 1 1/2-length score in the $356,320 Grade 3 Three Chimneys Ladies Turf at Kentucky Downs on Saturday.

In her last start previous to Saturday’s winning effort, Ms Bad Behavior bore out at the start in the $200,000 Grade 2 Royal Heroine Stakes at Santa Anita, to the point that jockey Mike Smith pulled her up. At Kentucky Downs, she exhibited similar behavior again, and bore out from her outside post position, but jockey Jose Ortiz let her have her way briefly over the wide grassy track and she soon found her way to the front of the field.

That tactic ultimately won Ms Bad Behavior her fourth career start, and her second stakes win. Out of Stormy Atlantic mare Cumulonimble, Ms Bad Behavior was consigned by Castlepark Farm and bought by Brooke Hubbard Farm for a bargain $75,000 at the 2016 Keeneland September Sale. She has banked more than $500,000 for her owners Sayjay Racing and Brooke Hubbard Farm.

Blame stands at Claiborne Farm.
