Illustrator became winner number nine for DEMARCHELIER (GB) on Friday when he romped home by 11 lengths at Remington Park.
Breaking quickly in the 7 ½ furlong turf race, Illustrator kept pressure on Fully Funded as they battled down the backstretch and around the turn. As they raced into the stretch, that pressure proved to be too much for the longtime leader and he quickly gave away to leave Illustrator alone on the front end.
From there it was easy sailing for the juvenile and he was eased near the line to win by 11 lengths as the heavy race favorite.
Trained by Ray Ashford Jr. for Ron Stolich, Illustrator has raced three times with three top three finishes, all coming at Remington Park.
The Troy Rankin-bred is the first out of Prehistory, a Palace Malice half-sister to stakes winner and multiple Grade 1 placed Wonder Gal. Wonder Gal is the dam of last year’s Champion 2-Year-Old Filly Wonder Wheel. The page also includes Grade 1 winners Force The Pass and Perfect Drift.
Among DEMARCHELIER’s (GB) nine winners are two stakes performers. This is the second winner of the week for the Dubawi (Ire) son, who also saw El Chato win on debut last Saturday.
