Declarationofpeace became the latest success story for his internationally acclaimed sire War Front when he achieved TDN Rising Star status April 24.
The juvenile colt, who was a $2.5 million weanling at the 2015 Keeneland November breeding stock sale, gave his owner M.V. Magnier immediate confidence in his investment when he posted a dominating six-length victory in his career debut over six furlongs at Navan Racecourse in Ireland April 24.
“He’s a fine big fellow. He has a lot of speed,” trainer Aidan O’Brien told Irish Racing.com. “We’d be thinking of Ascot and if we could get another run into him it would be a help. We could look at the (listed) Marble Hill (at The Curragh May 27) or the (Listed) Rochestown (at Naas May 21) for him.”
Out of the Storm Cat mare Serena’s Cat, Declarationofpeace is a half-brother to G1 winner and sire Honor Code, plus multiple graded stakes winner Noble Tune. He also descends from the female family of Hall of Famer Serena’s Song.
War Front has 11 stakes horses to his credit this year, including G1 winner American Patriot. North America’s #1 sire of stakes winners in 2016, War Front stands for $250,000 at Claiborne.
