Placing in each of her last four starts, all in stakes, BLAME’s In A Hurry scored her first stakes victory in the Listed All Along Stakes on Saturday.
Breaking on top in the 1 1/8 mile race on turf, she led the field around the track with FIRST SAMURAI’s Plum Ali trading second back and forth with another horse in second. Going a little wide racing into the stretch, In A Hurry picked up the pace when asked and was able to hold off Plum Ali by half a length.
A homebred Shu McGaughey-trained runner for Stuart Janney, In A Hurry is less than $100 away from earning $300,000 and has finished in the top three in 13 of her 18 starts. Included in those placings are two graded stakes.
In a Hurry is out of the graded stakes-placed Scampering, who is also the dam of stakes-placed Romp. Out of multiple stakes winning Miz United States, Scampering is a half-sister to BLAME’s multiple stakes winner Exaggerated and Grade 3-placed Ameribelle.
She is the fifth stakes winner of the year for BLAME, who is also the sire of 10 stakes performers in 2022.
