WAR FRONT’s stakes-placed daughter Stolen Holiday added a stakes victory to her name on Saturday with an eye-catching victory in the Eatontown Stakes (G3).
Making her second start at the graded stakes level, Stolen Holiday was allowed to take the lead soon after the gate and cruised on the front end throughout in the 1 1/16 mile turf race.
Jockey Jose Lezcano let her out a notch around the turn then asked her for a little more in the stretch and the WAR FRONT responded well. She was never asked for her absolutely best, winning by a conservative length over Claiborne-raised Vigilantes Way with the rest of the field over 3 ½ lengths behind the winner.
Bred by Orpendale, Stolen Holiday was purchased by Northshore Bloodstock from Denali Stud for $750,000 as a yearling and races in the colors of Annette Allen. Shug McGaughey trains the WAR FRONT daughter, who was registering her fourth victory and seventh top three finish in 10 starts on Saturday.
The well-bred Stolen Holiday is the fourth graded stakes winner out of the Grade 2 winning Sadler’s Wells daughter Silk and Scarlet. That mare also has a trio of Grade 1 winners to her name in Eishin Apollon, Master of Hounds, and Minorette.
Silk And Scarlet is one of two Grade 1 producers for her dam, alongside sister My Dark Rosaleen, who produced the German Group 1 winner Second Step.
Stolen Holiday is the 57th worldwide graded stakes winner for WAR FRONT and 116 graded stakes performer for the leading sire. In all, WAR FRONT has sired graded stakes winners in nine different countries.
