It was a new stakes winner for WAR FRONT on Saturday when Full Count Felicia won the Listed All Along Stakes at Pimlico.
It was the third straight victory for Full Count Felicia, who was making her third stakes start in the race. The 4-year-old was first out of the gate in the 1 1/8-mile turf race and had to put up with some early pressure. That pressure didn’t last long as she steadily pulled away from the field to have eight lengths in hand going into the final furlong.
Sheldon Russell eased up on his mount close to the line as Full Count Felicia streaked under it 8 ½ lengths ahead of the competition with the third placed runner nearly 10 lengths behind the winner.
Brittany Russell has trained the filly to four wins and three other top three finishes in 12 starts for Gold Square. The filly was bred by WAR FRONT’s owner Joseph Allen, out of the stakes-placed Claire de Lune. Both of the mare’s winners are by WAR FRONT.
Claire de Lune is a half-sister to Group 1 winners Cerulean Sky and Moonstone with those descending from Full Count Felicia’s second dam Solo de Lune also including champions Honolulu, Wellington, and Moderator.
Full Count Felicia is one of 114 stakes winners by WAR FRONT with the stallion also the sire of 25% stakes performers. The stallion leads all active North American sires by percentages in every stakes category.
