Trappe Shot filly tops session at Keeneland

A yearling by Claiborne Sire Trappe Shot was the top-priced filly of the day September 24th as the bidding continued at Keeneland’s September Sale. Hip 3891, out of the blacktype mare Stormandaprayer, was purchased by McMahon and Hill Bloodstock for $87,000.

The filly is half-sister to talented 2-year-old Harlands Thunder, a winner in her debut at Churchill Downs and 3-time stakes placed since the catalog was published, including the Selima Stakes, Colleen Stakes, and G3 Schuylerville.

In addition to this filly sold for $87,000, Trappe Shot was represented by a $110,000 colt sold during Book 4.

Trappe Shot is currently ranked the #2 second-crop sire. Only Uncle Mo has more Graded Stakes Winners, Graded Stakes Horses, and Grade 1 Stakes Horses. Trappe Shot is also a fast emerging sire of 2yo’s as he ranks among the nation’s top sires with 11 2yo winners in 2016.

Tapit’s top son at stud, Trappe Shot’s top runners include G3 winner Fish Trappe Road, G1 placed My Man Sam, G3 placed Quick Release, and blacktype runners Getting Joellened and Kalabaka.
