Three Graded Placed Horses on Saturday at Gulfstream and Fair Grounds

On Saturday, sons of FLATTER finished second and third in the $1 Million Florida Derby-G1. UPSTART, who won the Holy Bull S.-G2 earlier in the meet, pressed the pace throughout to finish runner-up, beaten less than two lengths. AMI’S FLATTER, who was runner-up in the Tampa Bay Derby-G2 in his last race, closed to finish third.

And at the Fair Grounds, PAROLED raced up close to the pace throughout to place in the $300,000 Mervin H. Muniz Jr. H.-G2. He finished just a length back of the winner who set a new course record for about 1 1/8 miles on the turf. This year, PAROLED has victories here on both dirt and turf and was coming off a three-length win in early March. He has six career wins and earnings of $250,329.
