Thirteen for SILVER STATE at Fasig-Tipton October

Grade 1 winner SILVER STATE’s first yearlings started the sales season as Fasig-Tipton’s Kentucky campus, and they’ll end it there this week with 13 on offer during the four-session sale.

The first through the ring is the Buckland Sales-offered Hip 85, a half-sister to RUNHAPPY’s stakes placed Mischievous M.

The duo is out of the winning Forever Loyal, who is a full sister to the multiple graded stakes winner Sara Louise and half-sister to Grade 3 winner Just Louise.

Both have been productive broodmares with Sara Louise producing the Grade 2-placed Nash and Sara Street. She is also the granddam of Grade 2 winner Kalik and stakes winner Airosa among others.

Just Louise not only produced multiple graded stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Forbidden Kingdom, but also a $1.35 million filly at Keeneland September.

A half-brother to BLAME’s stakes winning Pigalle sells as Hip 188 through Claiborne.

The colt’s dam Heels has produced two winners from three to race with her son Yahoo Omar adding three more wins to his record after the catalog was released. Three of the dams on the page earned blacktype themselves with the only one not to earn it being one of three stakes producers on the page.

In all, there are 12 stakes performers named under the four dams on the page with seven winning at least one stakes.

A granddaughter of Grade 1 winner Passing Shot sells with Paramount Sales as Hip 206.

Her dam is the Speightstown mare Home Again, who has been a productive broodmare on her own with both her runners winning two or more races, including six-time winner Mo Co Gold. Passing Shot was also a successful broodmare after her racing career with her three foals to race including the Grade 3-placed Game Fair.

Passing Shot is the best stakes performer on the page, but isn’t the only stakes winner with her dam Aucilla also winning a Grade 3. Aucilla is also the granddam of the stakes placed Red Guernica with two of her half-sisters producing stakes performers of their own.

Legacy Bloodstock offers Hip 272, a colt out of the successful broodmare Juliette Ava.

While Juliette Ava was unplaced on the track, she produced the stakes placed Pure Fire among her runners. Another one of her winners is Baroness Juliette, who is likely known better as the dam of Grade 3 winner No More Time. Producing stakes winners isn’t rare in this family with the colt’s stakes-placed granddam Cherokee Crossing’s other foals including Grade 1 winner Siphonic and stakes winner Mountain Girl.

Her producing power has been passed on to more than just Juliette Ava with daughter Rose Of Summer producing Grade 1 winner Laragh and Grade 2 winner Summer Front and winning daughter Lady Siphonica the granddam of this year’s Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Mystik Dan.

Coming during the third day of selling is Hip 856, a colt out of Shotgun’s Star.

Offered by Hunter Valley Farm, the colt received an update after the catalog was released when his 2-year-old More Than Ready half-sister Prime and Ready placed in her only start. Prime and Ready is one of three to run out of their dam with the mare also producing the winning Shotgun’s Vision.

Shotgun’s Star is a half-sister to the multiple Grade 3 winner Shotgun Kowboy, multiple stakes winner Euro K Shotgun, and the stakes placed Shotgun’s Night from four winners out of a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Maysville Slew.

This page has more bold than not with 26 different stakes performers named under the colt’s three dams. That group includes 11 stakes winners led by the Grade 1-winning Shotgun Gulch, who produced two stakes performers of her own.

Legacy Bloodstock sells Hip 883 on behalf of Beau Lane during the third session.

The April-born colt out of Slant of Light is a half-brother to stakes winner Midnight Mojo, who leads his four winning siblings from five to race out of their dam. Slant of Light was one of seven winners out of her own dam and is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Ice Bear in addition to the granddam of stakes winner Romani Kalibre.

This page is a strong one with those named including champions Shareef Dancer, Slew of Reality, and Wilder Jaeger and Grade 1 winners Slew The Moon and Mizzen Mast.

A half-sister to Grade 2 winner Gold Meadow Dancer is among SILVER STATE’s final offerings when she sells with Paramount as Hip 1290.

Gold Medal Dancer retired with seven wins and was also a multiple Grade 1 placed runner as one of seven winners out of stakes winner and Grade 3 placed Bachata. While Bachata was the only stakes winner out of Grade 3 placed Meadow Vista, she was one of four stakes producers with her sisters’ runners including stakes winners Bron and Brow, Emily’s Lollipop, and Meadow Dancer in addition to Grade 2-placed Lieutenant Colonel.

SILVER STATE’s offerings end halfway through the final session when Mulholland Springs sends Hip 1423 through the ring.

The colt is out of Calysa, who was placed on the track and whose only foal to race is a winner. This is an active family with stakes winning second dam Simplify the dam of multiple stakes winner Optionality and stakes winner Simple Surprise leading her four stakes performers from seven winners.  Simple Surprise went on to produce a two-time Grade 1 winner in Gunite from her one foal to race.

There are five more stakes performers under the colt’s multiple stakes winning third dam Classic Olympio, including two stakes performer other than Simplify.

Each of this week’s four sessions start at 10am with about 400 hips selling per session.
