Stakes Winner and Stakes-Placed Horses Over the Weekend

FLATTERING BEA, a 4-year-old filly by FLATTER, dug in to win the $200,000 Sugar Maple S. presented by CANTER Mid-Atlantic S. Stalking the pace early on, she took the lead halfway through this seven-furlong contest, dueled  then got clear and got to the wire first for a neck victory at Charles Town. Last year, FLATTERING BEA was runner-up in three stakes, including a nose loss in Pimlico’s Miss Preakness S., and now has earnings of nearly $300,000.

 

NEEDMORE FLATTERY, a 3-year-old filly by FLATTER, got shuffled back early in the six-furlong Howard B. Noonan S., but rallied on the outside to place in this race against males at Beulah Park. A winner of six stakes dating back to her juvenile year, NEEDMORE FLATTERYhas seven wins in 11 starts and earnings of $238,000.
