SKYLANDER GIRL Close Runner-up in Woodbine’s OLG Algoma S.

The consistent multiple stakes winner SKYLANDER GIRL has now been runner-up in three straight stakes after finishing just a length back in the OLG Algoma S. at Woodbine. The 3-year-old filly by STROLL broke well to take the lead in the early going. She was headed on the backstretch of this 1 1/16-mile all-weather track event, but retook the lead going into the turn and opened up a bit heading into the stretch. She continued to maintain the lead until being caught inside the sixteenth pole. This year SKYLANDER GIRL also has been runner-up in the $250,000 Wonder Where S. going 1 1/4 miles on the turf, and in the one mile Ontario Damsel S., also on the turf, beaten just 1/2 length from that win. Last year at two, SKYLANDER GIRLwon the My Dear S. and the Ontario Debutante S., both on the all-weather surface at Woodbine. She now has earnings of $349,268.
