It was another trip to the winners circle for RUNHAPPY’s Joyful Cadence on Friday night when she scored her first stakes victory in the Saylorville Stakes at Prairie Meadows.
Running over six furlongs on the dirt, Joyful Cadence stumbled at the start but quickly recovered to take the lead. She was joined by two others in the fight to take control before getting the upper hand and extending from there.
Jockey Reylu Gutierrez didn’t ask for much down the stretch and Joyful Cadence proved he didn’t need to when pulling away for a 5 ¾ length victory – her third win of the year.
A multiple graded stakes placed runner, Joyful Cadence is trained by John Alexander Ortiz for WSS Racing and has earnings of $352,967.
The filly is the second stakes winner from six runners out of Arabian Song alongside dual Grade 1 winner Country Grammar. In all, the winning Forestry mare has four winners from six to race.
Joyful Cadence is also from the family of Grade 1 winners Etoile Montante and Obligatory and others.
RUNHAPPY has sired four stakes winners and seven stakes performers in 2022 with nine stakes winners and 15 stakes performers overall from his first two crops including two Grade 1-placed runners.
