SILVER STATE’s Stately Girl Breaks Maiden Impressively

It was another winner for SILVER STATE on Wednesday when Stately Girl broke her maiden at Parx by 4 ¼ lengths.

The six furlong dirt race saw her break from the inside spot and quickly chase down an early pacesetter to pour on the pressure. Those two were lengths ahead of the rest of the field going into the turn with Stately Girl just waiting for a chance to take over.

She coasted by the longtime leader as they approached the stretch and soon after was well in front of that one.

While one other horse was able to overtake that leader, Stately Girl was too far ahead to be in danger. Kept focused by Andy Hernandez, she won by 4 ¼ lengths to take her record to three top three finishes in four starts.

The filly is trained by Michael Moore for Hardesty Stables and Michael Day with Patricia Ziefle DVM breeding her.

She is out of the four-time winning Tri Delt Girl, who has been a successful broodmare with eight winners. That group is led by the multiple stakes winning Alani and Grade 3 placed The Gomper with Tri Delt Girl herself one of 12 runners out of the champion Mom’s Command. That mare’s runners included Grade 2 winner Jonesboro with multiple stakes performers produced by her daughters as well.

Keeping the tradition alive, Mom’s Command’s dam Star Mommy produced seven winners herself with those other runners including 12-time winner and stakes placed Topsyzgy.

SILVER STATE was an exceptional racehorse with his four-year-old season including four stakes wins, led by a win in the Metropolitan H. (G1) against a field that included future Horse of the Year Knicks Go.
