NORTHERN PASSION BECOMES NEWEST 2YO STAKES HORSE

NORTHERN PASSION, a 2-year-old filly by Grade 1 winner FIRST SAMURAI, earned her first black type when she finished runnerup in the 6 1/2-furlong $150,000 Ontario Debutante S. at Woodbine on August 13. Settling off the pace at the start, the newest stakes horse for her sire swung four wide late in the turn, rallied down the lane to just miss by 1/2 length. This $220,000 OBS March 2011 sales grad racing for John C. Oxley won her Maiden Special Weight debut at Woodbine on July 9.
