NEWSDAD LANDS PAN AMERICAN-G2 FOR THE SECOND TIME

In just his second start of the year, NEWSDAD took control inside the final furlong to win the 1 1/2-mile Pan American S.-G2 on the turf at Gulfstream Park. Last for the first mile of the race, the son of ARCH began moving up around the final turn and put in his closing kick to get the victory by a neck. NEWSDAD placed in this race in his only start of 2013, but won the 2012 edition. In his final start of 2012, he captured the 1 1/8-mile Fayette S.-G2 on Keeneland’s all-weather main track by two lengths. A homebred for James Karp out of the Pulpit mare, Storm Tracer, NEWSDAD was runner-up, by a nose, in the Mac Diarmida S.-G2. He has six wins and has placed six times in 23 starts and earned $619,085.
