NEW SW, 2 SP FOR FIRST SAMURAI

LAST GUNFIGHTER, a 3-year-old colt by FIRST SAMURAI, sat behind a wall of horses through the turn, then came through an opening to take the lead at the top of the stretch and scored a convincing 4 1/2-length victory in the Raymond Earl S., going a mile over a sloppy track at Aqueduct.

Never off the board in seven starts to date, LAST GUNFIGHTER outdueled older horses in his previous start, a one mile allowance also at Aqueduct.  The colt is a homebred for John D. Gunther and is trained by Chad Brown. He is is one of 17 stakes horses in 2012 for FIRST SAMURAI.

The same weekend, stakes winner NAKANO placed in the Sugar Swirl S.-G3 at Gulfstream and 2-year-old RUTHERFORD RD placed in the Ontario Lassie S. at Woodbine.
