NAKANO PLACES IN THE G1 PRINCESS ROONEY

Making just her third start of 2012 and only second stakes start, this 4-year-old filly by FIRST SAMURAI closed down the stretch to place in the six-furlong Princess Rooney H.-G1 on the dirt at Calder, a little more than three lengths behind 2011 Champion Female Sprinter Musical Romance. In her last race and stakes debut, NAKANO was runner-up in Calder’s Cool Air S. In her first start of the year, she was a 3 1/2-length allowance winner in May after a nine-month lay-off and has now won or placed in seven of 10 starts. NAKANO is the fourth graded stakes horse this year for FIRST SAMURAI.
