MASTERY’s Goodgirl Badhabits put in yet another impressive performance on Saturday with a 10 ¼ length romp at Laurel.
Stretching out an extra furlong and a half in her second start after winning her debut by 12 ¾ lengths last out, Goodgirl Badhabits handled this race much the same way. Having a little bit of trouble at the break, she quickly recovered and opened up multiple lengths on the field as she galloped relaxed under Jevian Toledo.
A heavy favorite, Goodgirl Badhabits was lightly urged on down the stretch to continue her domination. She never gave up any ground and pulled away to a 10 ¼ length win for owners Jim Bakke and Gerald Isbister.
Trained by Brittany Russell, Goodgirl Badhabits was bred by Lisa Reynolds, Jenifer Feiner, and Woods Edge Farm. She was a $135,000 Keeneland September Yearling purchase by Blake James from Woods Edge Farm’s consignment and has quickly showed why her buyers had such faith in her.
Goodgirl Badhabits is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 2 placed Dazzling Gem and stakes winner Rose to Fame. A winner herself, the filly’s dam Dazzler produced seven winners from seven runners.
