KOBE’S BACK Returns With Runner-up Finish in San Carlos-G2

Away from the races since last July, Grade 2 winner KOBE’S BACK made a strong comeback and finished runner-up, beaten less than a length, in the $250,000 San Carlos S.-G2. Off a bit slowly going seven furlongs at Santa Anita, the 4-year-old colt by FLATTER was four wide around the turn and into the stretch and continued his rally to the wire. Last year, KOBE’S BACK won the San Vicente S.-G2 by 5 1/4 lengths, and in his debut at two, won the Willard L. Proctor Memorial S. by 3 1/4 lengths on Hollywood Park’s all-weather track.
