It was a second straight victory for IRONICUS’s Avid Sucinori on Tuesday when the filly won a Finger Lakes Allowance to take her record to six top two finishes in eight 2021 starts.
Happily racing in the slop in the six furlong dirt race, Avid Sucinori let FIRST SAMURAI’s pacemaking Zero Point Zero race a few lengths in front of her for much of the race. Harry Hernandez angled his mount a few paths off the rail in the stretch and the chase was on.
Avid Sucinori and Zero Point Zero were well ahead of the rest of the field as Avid Sucinori chased her down with the IRONICUS daughter winning by half a length. The third place finisher nearly six lengths behind the pair with everyone else over 10 lengths back.
Avid Sucinori has been a consistent presence in the top two in her six races since late July and took that to another level two weeks before this win with a 12 ¼ length romp.
Bred by Melanie Giddings in New York, the 3-year-old filly is trained by Michael Ferraro for Happy Face Racing Stable.
Avid Sucinori is out of a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Diva Express with the pair out of a half-sister to stakes winner A Little Gem.
