Making his first start in the U.S. and first start since last September, GLENARD (GB) rallied to earn the runner-up spot, less than two lengths back of the win, in the Fair Grounds H.-G3. The son of ARCH broke from the inside post in a 10-horse field and decided to move off the rail early in this 1 1/8-mile turf event. GLENARD sat off the pace but started his rally with a couple furlongs to go and finished with a strong closing kick down the stretch in a good effort after a long lay-off and a new racing environment. He earned a very respectable 95 Beyer figure in the race. GLENARD broke his maiden as a 2-year-old at first asking at Doncaster and also recorded wins at Haydock and York. He is currently trained by Graham Motion for Andrew Stone.
