Search Results’ little brother Search Engine made plenty of noise in his 3-year-old debut on Friday when the FLATTER son broke his maiden by 6 ¼ lengths in a Maiden Special Weight.
Search Engine shot out of the gate to immediately enter a duel in the one-mile Delta Downs dirt race before putting a length between himself and his rivals half-way through the race. The MyRacehorse.com and Greg Tramontin-owned colt started extending around the turn and used the stretch to build his margin.
The chestnut won by 6 ¼ length with the third placed horse over 10 lengths back and fourth placed horse over 18 lengths back.
Trained by Thomas Amoss, Search Engine was bred by Machmer Hall and sold for $625,000 to MyRacehorse from De Meric Sales’ consignment at the OBS Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds In Training last year.
The colt is out of the Grade 3-placed Co Cola, who was sold to Peter Blum for $600,000 at this year’s Keeneland January Sale carrying a full sibling to Search Results and Search Engine. Co Cola is now the dam of three winners from three to race.
Grade 1 winning Search Results is working regularly for her 4-year-old debut, most recently registering a bullet at Payson Park on Valentine’s Day.
