FIRST SAMURAI’S SWIFT WARRIOR WINS TAMPA BAY-G3

Coming off his first graded stakes win at Sam Houston, SWIFT WARRIOR shipped to Tampa to take the Tampa Bay S.-G3. Racing 1 1/16 miles on the turf, the 5-year-old son of FIRST SAMURAI this time came from off the pace to get the win. Sitting back in fourth until the final turn, SWIFT WARRIOR swung three wide to challenge for the lead, emerged on top in deep stretch and won a four-horse blanket finish. Bred in Kentucky by Paget Bloodstock, Nearctic Bloodstock and Carhue Investments, SWIFT WARRIOR is owned by James Covello and James Dolan, and trained by John Terranova II. This win put him over the $430,000 earnings mark having won or placed in 15 of 20 starts, including seven stakes.
