FIRST CROP SELLING AT FASIG-TIPTON JULY SELECTED YEARLING SALE

The first crop of yearlings by Grade 2-winning 2-year-old HORSE GREELEY, start hitting the sales this summer with the first one slated for the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Selected Summer Yearling Sale, Tuesday, July 12.

Consigned as Hip #9 by Paramount Sales, Agent, this Florida-bred colt is out of the Silver Deputy mare La Carina. She has produced three foals of racing age, including a 2-year-old of 2011 and the 3-year-old, Sam Sparkle, who won an Aqueduct Maiden Special Weight in his debut this year. La Carina is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner and graded-placed Separato. This is the family of the hearty Argentine mare La Bettina (Arg), who won or placed in five G1 races.

HORSE GREELEY, by Mr. Greeley, broke his maiden at Del Mar by four lengths, then proceeded to win the Del Mar Futurity-G2 on dirt in his very next start. He also placed in the Grade 1 Malibu S. on the all-weather surface at Santa Anita. He represents the Gone West sire line, whose successful sons at stud include his sire, as well as Elusive Quality, Speightstown and Grand Slam.
