Destiny Star Leads Three Winner Week For CATHOLIC BOY in Tampa Bay Romp

CATHOLIC BOY’s Destiny Star again impressed on Saturday when the Siena Farms homebred stayed undefeated in 2024 with a 4 ½ length romp at Tampa Bay Downs.

Breaking as one of the first out of the gate in the one-mile turf Allowance Optional Claiming race, Destiny Star quickly took command. Staying with another runner early on, the 3-year-old pulled away down the backstretch and that was all it took to win the race.

Keeping a safe distance between herself and the field, Destiny Star spent the stretch run pulling away to an easy 4 ½ length victory with the third placed runner 7 ½ lengths behind.

Trained by co-owner Timothy Hamm, Destiny Star won going five furlongs in her seasonal debut three weeks ago.

Destiny Star is a granddaughter of the stakes winning Alaura Michele. That mare is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Isabella Sings and stakes winner Tobacco Road. She is one of two winners from two to race out of Declaration of War mare Reiko.

The filly was one of three winners in 72 hours for CATHOLIC BOY, who saw son Rock’n a Halo win a Fair Grounds Maiden Special Weight on Thursday and Marquette Warrior win a Sam Houston Allowance race after Destiny Star’s Saturday win.
