For the second time in the last 34 days, The Thoroughbred Daily News has honored a son of Claiborne sire FLATTER with the distinguished title of TDN RISING STAR.
Favorable Outcome, a 2yo colt out of the stakes winning mare Shananies Song, turned in a dashing performance in his debut at Saratoga. Settled into third place, Favorable Outcome edged off the rail to go three wide in challenging the pacesetters down the stretch. He overcame those foes with a stunning turn-of-foot and crossed the wire 6 lengths ahead of the pack. Favorable Outcome sold for $300,000 at OBS March. He was bred in Kentucky by Charles T. Matses, owned by Klaravich Stables, Inc. & William H. Lawrence, and trained by Chad Brown.
Last month, Chasing Aces (Flatter) earned TDN Rising Star status following a 5 1/4 length score at Del Mar July 17.
Flatter, who was also represented this weekend by SOLVE (2nd G3 Canadian Derby), now has 8 GSHs and 5 GSWs on the year, including
TARIS (G1), PAOLA QUEEN (G1), UPSTART, AMI’S FLATTER & KOBE’S BACK.
