In her first start since placing in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint-G1, TARIS posted her second graded stakes win this year when she cruised to victory in the $300,000 Go for Wand H.-G3 at Aqueduct on Nov. 27. The 4-year-old daughter of FLATTER was sent off the 4-5 favorite and did not disappoint in the one-mile race. Ridden by Joel Rosario, TARIS tracked the pace for most of the race, drifted wide at head of the stretch, then set down for the drive and pulled away to win by 2 1/2 lengths.
TARIS has won six races in 10 starts, including the 2015 Rancho Bernardo H.-G3 and a nine-length win in Keeneland’s 2014 Lexus Raven Run S.-G2. The nearly $700,000 earner was bred by Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider out of the Theatrical (Ire) mare, Comedy. TARIS was purchased out of last year’s Fasig-Tipton November Sale for $2.35 million. She is trained by Simon Callaghan for owners Michael B. Tabor, Derrick Smith and John Magnier.
