First Mares Carrying Foals by ANNAPOLIS Hit Ring at November Sales

Buyers are set to have 16 chances to buy mares in-foal to Grade 1 winner ANNAPOLIS over the next few weeks at both Fasig-Tipton and Keeneland.

Flower Point kicks off the procession on Monday when she sells as Hip 256 with Darby Dan.

A successful racemare, Flower Point was a stakes winner and Grade 3 placed runner on the track with $351,412 in earnings. She is carrying to ANNAPOLIS on a March 13 cover after foaling a Tiz The Law colt this year.

The stakes form on Flower Point’s page is strong with her multiple stakes placed dam Fab Flowers also producing stakes winner Catman. Fab Flowers is one of three stakes performers for J.D. Flowers, who also produced three-time Grade 1 winner Exotic Wood and stakes winner J.D. And Water. Both of those mares went on to produce stakes winners as did some of their daughters and granddaughters.

Buyers will have a chance to buy a mare from multiple Grade 1 winner National Treasure’s family as Hip 632 when Bridie Harrison offers Inspiring on behalf of Peter Blum.

This winning mare is carrying her third foal by the stallion on a March 17 cover after foaling a Street Sense filly in 2023 and Authentic colt in 2024. Out of Inspired, Inspiring is a half-sister to the stakes winner and Grade 2 placed Carmel Road and stakes placed Night Time Lady from four other winners out of their multiple stakes winning dam.

Two of Inspired’s other siblings produced stakes performers with Treasure the dam of National Treasure and stakes winner Ultimate and stakes winner Initiation the dam of the stakes placed Forward Thinker.

A granddaughter of dual Grade 1 winner Finder’s Fee carrying her second foal sells as Hip 1624 with Nicky Drion Thoroughbreds.

By successful broodmare sire Tiznow, St Claude is also a half-sister to the Grade 3 placed duo of Roman Centurian and Storie Blue from the four winners out of Bernardini mare Spare Change. Spare Change is one of two stakes producers out of Finder’s Fee alongside Receipt.  Placed at the stakes level, Receipt is also the dam of Grade 3 winners and multiple Grade 1 placed Feathered – who went on to produce Horse of the Year Flightline.

Carrying her second foal by ANNAPOLIS, Carolina Sand has plenty of chances to become a successful producer in her own right.

Selling as Hip 2168 with Nursery Place, the winning Temple City mare is a half-sister to the stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Reveron and stakes placed Carolina Mist. Her dam has passed on her producing success with one daughter producing Grade 2 winner Steal Sunshine and the other stakes winner Fore Left. There have also been plenty of updates under that dam with four different winners listed under the updates.

In addition to the first dam’s stakes performers, there are eight stakes performers listed under her second dam.

Selling as Hip 2329 through Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa is Maeve The Brave, a 5-year-old carrying her second foal by ANNAPOLIS. The mare is a full sister to the Group 3 winner Music Box, stakes winner and Group 2 placed Ektihaam, and stakes placed Onlyhuman out of the winning King’s Best mare Liscune.

Out of a Group 3 winner herself, Liscune is a half-sister to French Group 3 winner Lycitus and Australian stakes winner Forelorna, who was also second in a New Zealand Group 3. Forlorna also produced a stakes performer in Abbey Way. While Liscune’s half-sister Lorne Lady was only placed on the track, her three stakes performers are led by the Group 1 winner Sunstrach.

The cross the foal Meave The Brave is carrying is bred on the same WAR FRONT son cross as 10 winners from 19 to race, including a stakes winner.

ANNAPOLIS has mares in foal from Keeneland November session two to eight with each of those sessions starting at 10am ET from Wednesday on.
