FIRST SAMURAI COLT WINS HIS STAKES DEBUT

MALIBU WAY, a 3-YO colt by FIRST SAMURAI, notched a win in the Lamplighter Stakes at Monmouth Park going 1 1/16 miles over the turf. MALIBU WAY moved up three wide on the far turn and rallied into the stretch to prevail. This is his second win in 2012 , he was beaten by a head in an allowance at Keeneland in April.

Saturday’s victory brings MALIBU WAY‘s career record to 3-2-1with earnings of $74,760. He is out of the Red Ransom mare, Redmond and was bred by Hinkle Farms. MALIBU WAY is owned by Lael Stables and trained by Christophe Clement .
