2YO COLT EQUALS TRACK RECORD IN DEBUT

ALUMNI, a 2-year-old colt from the second crop of FIRST SAMURAI, equaled the five-furlong track record taking this Maiden Special Weight at Hoosier Park on August 4 in his first career start. Gunning for the lead right out of post six, this $100,000 Keeneland September Sales graduate set fractions of :22 flat and :46 2/5 and drew off to win by six lengths stopping the clock at :56 4/5. He was bred in Kentucky by Northwest Farms LLC and races for Gary L. and Mary E. West.

The runnerup in this Maiden Special Weight, SKY ALERT, was another first-time starter byFIRST SAMURAI.
