WAR OF WILL Juveniles Led By $180,000 Filly at OBS March

First juveniles by dual surface Grade 1 winner WAR OF WILL were in high demand at this week’s OBS March 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale with a $180,000 filly leading the charge.

Purchased by CJ Stables from Top Line Sales, the :10.0 breezer is the second foal out of Curlin daughter Curled. That mare’s first runner is three this year and found success last season when hitting the board in all three of her juvenile starts last year. That sophomore is working regularly in preparation for her 3-year-old debut.

Curled is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Sweet Cherry Pie with the duo out of Grade 2-placed Sweet Cat. Sweet Cat is just one stakes performer seen on the page with Grade 1 winner Overbrook, Grade 2 winner Gluck, and Grade 1-placed Draw It also in the family.

Emerald Sales purchased a $130,000 WAR OF WILL filly on behalf of K E M Stables during the final day of the sale.

Offered by Britton Peak as agent, she is the first foal out of the winning Broken Vow mare Underestimate. Underestimate’s siblings include stakes winner Itsmyluckycharm among the three other winners out of Hard Hat.

Itsmyluckycharm isn’t the only stakes performer on the juvenile’s page with third dam Bright Feather also stakes placed. In the breeding shed, she producing Grade 1 winner Albert the Great among her three stakes winners and five stakes performers.

The filly is bred on a successful cross with WAR FRONT sons siring four stakes winners and six stakes performers overall out of Broken Vow mares, led by Grade 3 winner Fighting Seabee.
