WAR FRONT’s Sippinsoda earned her fourth win on Saturday with a victory in the Listed Prix Occitanie in France over 1 1/16 miles.
The filly quickly took up pacemaking duties in the La Teste de Buch race with her ears pricked even though there was a horse on her hip. Jockey Cristian Demuro was the last one to ask his horse for anything, waiting for the final furlong and a half to ask the 3-year-old to pick up the pace.
She was never asked for her best, however, winning by an easy quarter length for owner and co-breeder Ecurie Melanie, who bred her with Haras Du Cadaran.
Sippinsoda is out of a three-quarter sister to champion racehorse and sire High Chaparral and Group 2 winner Black Bear Island.
Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, the previously-Group 3-placed and Group 1 fourth Sippinsoda is the sixth stakes winner from WAR FRONT’s 3-year-old crop, with his five 2022 3-year-old stakes winners fifth among all United Stakes stallions this year.
In all, WAR FRONT has nine stakes performers from 42 3-year-old runners this year and 15 stakes performers from 48 runners from the crop overall.
