WAR OF WILL’s Just Clarity was back in the winner’s circle for the second time on Friday when he won at Aqueduct for David Donk and Joseph Bucci.
Winning his maiden last out, the 3-year-old raced over six furlongs on the dirt in this race and had to deal with some problems at the start when another horse came inwards on him. Just Clarity was forced to race in last for much of the early race, but started to make his move with three furlongs left to run.
Not worried about the added distance of coming wide into the stretch, he closed strongly to get up by a length by the time they hit the line with the third placed runner 5 ¼ lengths behind.
Bred in New York by McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds, Just Clarity is out of the stakes placed Quick Release, who has two winners from two to race. That mare is one of six winners from eight runners out of Just Joking, who herself is out of stakes winner Contrast.
Contrast is a daughter of the great mare Safely Kept, who produced multiple stakes winners and stakes producers as a broodmare.
Just Clarity is one of 20 winners for WAR OF WILL, whose seven stakes performers is sixth best among all second-crop sires.
