Not seen since his impressive maiden score here last September, STACKED DECK went right back to the winner’s circle after taking Woodbine’s Charlie Barley S. Going one mile on the turf, the 3-year-old son of FIRST SAMURAI forced the pace until upper stretch, then took the lead and stayed in front to the wire, winning by a nose. The final time was a very swift 1:33 2/5. The Bruce Lunsford homebred showed he was ready to get back to business with two bullet works prior to this race. In his Maiden Special Weight win last September 15th, STACKED DECK stalked the pace and then drew off through the stretch to win by 6 1/2 lengths going 6 1/2 furlongs on the all-weather. Bruce Lunsford, in partnership with Lansdon Robbins III, racedFIRST SAMURAI. STACKED DECK, who became the eighth stakes horse in nine days for his sire, has two wins in four starts and is trained by Barbara Minshall.
