EXPLORE has now won or placed in all five career starts after a 3 1/2-length win in allowance company at Presque Isle Downs. Going a mile on the all weather track, the 3-year-old son ofSTROLL sat in third never more than two lengths off the lead for the first six furlongs. As they raced around the final turn, he took the rail route and then scooted away from the field through the stretch under mild urging. In his career debut in February, EXPLORE pulled away from his nine rivals to win going a mile on the turf at Tampa Bay by 4 1/4 lengths. Bred by Mr. and Mrs. Bertram R. Firestone out of the winning Giant’s Causeway mare, Elsie Jay, he is trained by Maria Bowersock for Burkholder Stables.
