After a three-length Maiden Special Weight win at Saratoga going 1 1/16 miles on the turf in his second start, SONOFASAMURAI stepped up to place in Keeneland’s Bourbon S.-G3 in his very next start. In this 1 1/16-mile turf event, the 2-year-old colt by FIRST SAMURAI was always within striking distance throughout the race. He made his racing debut in July and finished a game third in a one mile Maiden Special on the Ellis Park turf course.
