Bred by Willard Burbach, owned by Tangarae Farms and trained by Kenneth Gleason, this juvenile has now won his four races by a combined margin of over 31 lengths.
And at Saratoga on August 18, SONOFASAMURIA, another 2-year-old colt by FIRST SAMURAI, scored a three-length Maiden Special Weight win at 1 1/16 miles on the turf. Making only his second start, he settled in fourth early on, split rivals passing the 3/16’s pole, then quickly separated himself from those two and went on to win under strong hand urging. In his July debut, SONOFASAMURAI finished a game third in a one mile Maiden Special on the Ellis Park turf course.
