On the first day of the four-day Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training, a colt by FLATTER was the session topper going for $280,000. Hip 161, an April 17th foal out of the War Chant mare Mrs. Debbie M, was purchased by trainer Steve Asmussen on behalf of Carrol Castille’s Whispering Oaks Farm. Bred by Susan King, the bay colt breezed :10 1/5 at the under-tack show, second fastest time of the day. Asmussen commented, “I think he’s an outstanding individual…I loved his work, he looks like a racehorse.”
