$230,000 ARCH COLT TOPS YEARLINGS AT FTK WINTER

A $230,000 ARCH colt was the highest priced yearling of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale. Hip 420, a January 19th foal out of the Seeking the Gold mare, Trappings, was consigned by Bluewater Sales, agent, on behalf of the breeders Nancy and Mike Mazzoni. The colt, purchased by Valkyre Stud’s Catherine Parke, is a half-brother to Champion She Be Wild. “He’s an extraordinary-looking animal; he’s correct and very classy,” explained Parke of her purchase.

Also on the second day, ARCH was represented by a $105,000 yearling, the second highest priced colt of the second session. Hip 357, out of the Mr. Greeley mare, Phantom Rising, and bred by Michael Hernon, Warrender Associates & Diane Curry, the February 15th foal was consigned by Gainesway, agent, and purchased by Calumet Farm.

In the first session of the sale, a mare in foal to ARCH sold for $175,000. Hip 136, Devil House, by Chester House, was consigned by Four Star Sales, agent for the Estate of David Greathouse, and purchased by John Greathouse, Jr.
