WAR OF WILL Yearlings Set to Make Debut at Fasig-Tipton July

The first yearlings by dual surface Grade 1 winner WAR OF WILL make their debut at this year’s yearling sales during the one-day Fasig-Tipton July Sale on July 11 with four cataloged to go through the ring.

His first through the ring is Hip 22 offered by the colt’s breeder Brandywine Farm. That March-born colt is the second foal out of Promenade Review, a half-sister to the Grade 2 winning Promenade Girl. Promenade Girl is the dam of three-time Grade 1 winner Cavorting, who herself produced multiple Grade 1 winner Clairiere and stakes winner La Crete.

In all, there are eight stakes winners and 14 stakes performers under the colt’s second dam with three performing at the Grade 1 level.

The next WAR OF WILL yearling through the ring is Hip 79 from the Bluewater Sales consignment. That colt is the third foal out of the BLAME mare Classydame with both winning at least once. The page received a big update less than a month before the sale when this colt’s half-sister After Eight finished third in the Stormy Blues Stakes by only one length.

After Eight’s blacktype made their dam an 11th generation stakes producer with her own dam producing multiple graded stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Pretty N Cool. A stakes performer herself, Stayclassysandiego is also a half-sister to the Grade 1 winner Sean Avery and a half-sister to stakes performer and producer W W American.

A colt out of Nicole H goes through the ring as Hip 131 for Highgate Sales in the middle of the session as the second-to-last through the ring for his sire.

Named War Poet, the colt is out of the Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Nicole H, who is a half-sister to the multiple stakes placed Tap Attack. Each of the colt’s four dams on the page are stakes winners or stakes producers with his second through fourth dams all producing at least one stakes performer. Many of the mares under his four dams have produced stakes performers as well led by stakes placed Our Mariah producing multiple Grade 2 winner Something Extra and her daughter producing Grade 3 winner Island Commish.

The final cataloged for WAR OF WILL is Hip 218 from Warrendale Sales. The filly’s multiple stakes-placed dam Tap Softly is already the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Silver Prospector and stakes winner Summertime Magic in addition to six-time winner Air Attack among her four winners.

Each of the first three dams on this filly’s page are stakes winners with each of her first seven dams also producing stakes performers.

The 2023 Fasig-Tipton July Sale starts at 10a.m. ET on Tuesday, July 11 with 370 yearlings cataloged.
