Tracy Racy, who has been dependable throughout her career, notched her first stakes victory in the Iowa Breeders’ Oaks at Prairie Meadows. The 3-year-old Algorithms filly won by a length over Glitzy Lady.
Ridden by Alex Birzer, Tracy Racy was sent off as the second choice in the Iowa Breeders’ Oaks. The bay filly was always in contention, as she stalked the pace before taking over on the far turn. She then took control in the stretch and could not be caught by the late charging Glitzy Lady.
Lynn Chleborad trains Tracy Racy and owns her in partnership with Poindexter Thoroughbreds LLC. H. Allen Poindexter bought the filly from Rick Lopez Training & Sales at the 2017 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s 2-year-olds and horses of racing age sale.
While the Iowa Breeders’ Oaks was Tracy Racy’s first stakes win, she also finished third in the Bob Bryant Stakes at Prairie Meadows in June. Always consistent, Tracy Racy has won three of her nine lifetime starts and been second or third in five others.
James R. Leech bred Tracy Racy out of the winning Pollard’s Vision mare Tesseract, who he campaigned as a homebred.
Algorithms, an undefeated graded stakes-winning son of Bernardini, was the No.1 Sire of 2-year-olds in 2017 by percentage of winners. He stands at Claiborne.
