Stella E Veloce Wins at Tampa for WAR OF WILL

Stella E Veloce became the latest winner for WAR OF WILL with a victory at Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Making her third career start in the six-furlong dirt race, she wasn’t the first out of the gate at the break, but it didn’t take long for her to lead the field. She had to deal with pressure for much of the running before shaking clear from other runners in the stretch.

Asked to run all the way to the line, Stella E Veloce won by a neck in the end over She Stopped Short.

Trained by Maxine Correa for Joan Dillbero and Stephen Derany, Stella E Veloce was bred by Crown Chase Farm.

Stella E Veloce is out of the stakes placed Take Me to Hardoon, whose dam is a half-sister to the stakes winning Rossa Veloce. This is also the extended family of three-time Grade 1 winner Got Stormy, dual Grade 1 winner Randomized, and Grade 1 winner New Year’s Day among others.

WAR OF WILL is the sire of 17 winners with his first crop led by six stakes performers – tying him for fourth on the freshman list and eighth among all North American stallions by number of juvenile stakes performers.
