STARDOZA BECOMES DATA LINK’S FIRST STAKES WINNER

Stardoza became freshman sire Data Link’s first stakes winner by taking the Mrs. Henry D. Paxson Memorial Stakes at Presque Isle Downs in her first attempt at stakes company. The 2-year-old filly took the lead early and never looked back.

After cruising to the front, Stardoza rated nicely while setting a manageable pace, and she faced no challenges through the stretch. Ultimately, she crossed the wire 1 ¾ lengths in front of her closest competition.

Stardoza has been first or second in all five of her career starts, and she broke her maiden at Presque Isle in August by 10 ¾ lengths.

Trainer Tim Girten owns Stardoza in partnership with Muirfield Farm. He bought the filly at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale from consignor Brookdale Sales, agent, and she has already earned $89,320. Stardoza is out of the Gulch mare Lovely Reward.

Data Link is a Grade 1-winning son of War Front. He retired from racing having won or placed in seven graded stakes, for career earnings of $831,335. He stands for $7,500 at Claiborne.
