SILVER STATE Juveniles Impress at OBS March Under Tack Show

A colt breezing in :10.0 led the charge for SILVER STATE during the OBS March 2-Year-Old In Training Sale Under Tack preview before the sale gets underway on Tuesday.

The last of the 11 hips selling by SILVER STATE during the three sessions, the Little Farm Equine consignee going through the ring as Hip 793 was bred by Brandywine Farm and out of Blizzard Beach. That mare’s first runner won twice in 2024. Blizzard Beach is a three-quarter sister to the Grade 3-placed Triple Cream and half-sister to the stakes placed Venado.

Their dam Swearingen is also the granddam of Grade 2 winner Pomeroys Pistol and Grade 3 winner Toowindytohaulrox among five stakes performers produced by her daughters. Pomeroys Pistol also produced Grade 2 winner Thousand Words and the dam of Grade 1 winner Faiza.

Four SILVER STATE juveniles registered :10.1 breezes, led by the first hip of the sale. Selling through GOP Racing Stables as Hip 1 is a February-born filly out of Calamity Jane bred by Moreau Bloodstock International.

The filly is the second racing age foal out of the stakes winning Calamity Jane, who won six races overall in her career. That mare joins Argentina champion Kononkop, Group 2 winners Koller and Kodiak Boy, and stakes winner Korea as stakes winners on the page.

Omar Ramirez Bloodstock offers Hip 54, a SILVER STATE filly out of Curluck who stopped the clock in :10.1.

That filly’s winning Curlin dam Curluck has produced one winner from one to race and is a full sister to the multiple Grade 3 placed Lucky Curlin. The duo are two of four winners from six to race out of My Lady Luck. Just like her daughter, My Lady Luck is a full sibling to a stakes performer in the stakes winning Sweet Seventeen. That mare was also a stakes producer as the dam of champion El Guardian and Group 2-placed Delta Barows. My Lady Luck is one of four stakes producers overall out of stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Play Ballado.

A colt out of My Fair Lily sells as Hip 380 through Cardozo’s Brothers after breezing in :10.1.

My Fair Lily is a half-sister to the stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Grand Mo The First and stakes placed Palladium as one of six winners from six to race out of Lilies So Fair. Bred by Forty Oaks, this colt also sees Grade 1 winners Materiality, Annapolis, and Leslie’s Rose under his third dam with Annapolis one of two stakes performers out of Grade 2 winner and multiple Grade 1 placed My Miss Sophia.

SILVER STATE’s final :10.1 breezer is Hoppel-consigned Hip 774 out of Behind The Lines.

Bred by Forever Spring Farm, the colt is the second foal out of a half-sister to stakes winner and multiple Grade 1-placed Hidden Message. The duo is out of stakes winner Secret Charm, who has produced seven winners from nine to race. Secret Charm is a half-sister to stakes winner Relish The Thought, who produced Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 placed My Gi Gi among her three stakes performers.

Two of Secret Charm’s other sisters also produced stakes performers for 10 stakes performers on the page overall.

This week’s sale runs from March 11 to 13 with each session starting at 11a.m. Each session includes multiple SILVER STATE offerings.
