RUNHAPPY’S Grand Ave Girl Romps by 7 ¼ Lengths At Gulfstream

Grand Ave Girl looks like another potential superstar for RUNHAPPY after the e Five Racing 3-year-old impressively broke her maiden in a Gulfstream Park Maiden Special Weight by 7 ¼ lengths.

Racing a mile on Gulfstream Park’s new synthetic surface, Grand Ave Girl took control of the race early with no other horses willing to take her on. She had over a length on the field throughout the first half of the race before all but waving good-bye to the field half-way down the backstretch.

The David Fawkes trainee extended her lead with every stride with seven lengths in hand going into the final furlong. She built the margin even more in that closing stage to win by 7 ¼ lengths with the third place horse 11 lengths behind at the wire.

Bred by SF Bloodstock and consigned as a yearling by Pope McLean, Grand Ave Girl was a $300,000 purchase by Mike Ryan at the 2019 Keeneland September Sale.

The filly is out of the Grade 3-placed One More, who has produced three winners from three to run and is one of two stakes performers out of the winning Tapit mare See Rock City. That mare is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Urban Guy and stakes winner Object of Virtue.
