QUAVER Closes Stoutly to Win Belmont Maiden Special Weight

After a troubled on-the-board finish in her career debut, QUAVER returned in her second start to win a Belmont Maiden Special Weight by two lengths.  Racing six furlongs on the inner turf, the 3-year-old filly by BLAME sat in mid-pack about six lengths off the lead after a half. QUAVER rallied three wide heading for home and gobbled up ground through the stretch to blew by the leaders in the final sixteenth for an impressive victory. The $200,000 Keeneland September sales grad was bred by Hinkle Farms & Joe Iracane out of Skipper Tale, by Tale of the Cat.
