A stakes winner at Belmont in April, MOSLER traveled north and placed in the six-furlong Highlander S.-G2 which was run in new course record time on the turf at Woodbine. The 4-year-old colt by WAR FRONT raced fairly close to the pace from the start. Staying along the rail around the turn, MOSLER moved off there to get a good run for home, was repeatedly blocked in the stretch but eventually got clear and finished gamely to the wire, only beaten 1 1/2 lengths for the win. Final time for the race was a blazing 1:07.18. Earlier in the year, MOSLER won the seven-furlong Elusive Quality S. by two lengths on the turf in a quick time of 1:20 3/5, running a 99 Beyer Figure. A three-time winner on dirt, MOSLER won a Maiden Special Weight at Belmont in his second try as a juvenile and also won one mile allowance races at Belmont and Aqueduct.
